Those Darn Critters..

The youngest recently went to the allergist. We've had three episodes since January of pretty impressive facial swelling and the last episode we landed in the Emergency Room as his lips were swelling and he complained of tongue and throat tingling. Anywho, we did some allergy testing recently and wouldn't you know it, he came back positive for dust mites. So nothing major, no answer to the explosion of swelling on the face, but the guinea pigs are safe (no new home for them). It's never an easy answer when it comes to my children. BUT, on the way home I had a genious idea! As we were talking about dust mites and I was explaining what they were and what we needed to do to help keep them at bay, I decided I would use this to my full advantage. I told him he had to keep his room super clean-no clothes on the floor, carpet has to remain clean and vaccuumed all the time since these little suckers could jump on his clothes, etc. He looked at me like I was crazy, but I intend to make sure he's compliant if ya know what I mean (wink, wink)...
